ANCIENT (Mesopotamian): Stele of Hammurabi
This video states that Hammurabi's code is similar to the 10 commandments but came before them. The implication here is that the 10 commandments were inspired by Hammurabi's code rather than by God. But is this the conclusion that must be drawn? No. Just because God gave the 10 commandments to Moses when He did does not mean God did not influence other cultures first or that other cultures could not have come up with good laws similar to God's. Not only that, but there is uncertainty about whether Hammurabi's code came before the 10 commandments. The video says Hammurabi's code "perhaps" predated the 10 commandments. When you are presented with information that may sway you from your faith, don't jump to immediate conclusions. Do your research, pray for guidance, and remember that the information you are given is not always accurate.
