PREHISTORIC ART: Venus of Willendorf

A few facts:

*Now called the Woman of Willendorf
*Found in 1908 by an archaeologist near Willendorf, Austria
*4.4 in. tall, carved from limestone not local to the area, tinted with red ochre
*Several similar statuettes have been discovered and are collectively referred to as "Venus figurines"
